Helmer's study
ENG: This is the study in Nora and Helmers house, mostly occupied by Helmer. But I haven't yet found out what he really does there, except listening to his records or playing his guitar.
ENG: Like me, Helmer has a thing for penguins.
This one he found in a tourist shop in Paris.
NOR: Rommet med og uten overlys. Under er Helmer på plass ved pc-en.
ENG: Daylight through the ceiling window. Underneath we see Helmer at his computer.
Credits: The desk, book shelves, cd player, radio, telephone, lamps and rug from Lundby. The pendant lamps and the kitsch woman on the wall by Cocco. The Arne Jacobsen Egg chair and foot stool from Brio (I have had them since my childhood) Computer and newspaperholder from Re-ment. The books are mostly from Lundby, TreeFeathers and self made.

Tomy & Annika
ENG: Some of the first to benefit from the new shop was Tomy and Annika, Nora and Helmers children. Nora got so inspired after the Spook House opening that not only did she buy new chairs and some other furniture for the childrens room, but she painted the walls in a new colour, too.
The childrens room before the make over, with Tomy and Annikas cousins visiting. (The cousins are the children in my daughters doll house) They already had the "IKEA Mammut" chairs and table and so has my children. Oddly enough, Tomy and Annika also seem to have almost the exact toys and heroes as my children....
Credits: Spook House chairs, blue chair, round shelf and yellow condiment rack from Re-ment. "Mammut" furniture, bed and desk from Lundby. Chest of drawers and wardrobe from Barton.
Accessories: Collected over the years, but mainly Lego, Kinder egg toys, re-ment and selfmade. Miniature Playmo house and figures.

Spook House
ENG: Earlier this winter there was a grand opening of Karl Edo Spook's new shop for modern design - Spook House - where champagne and fruit were served for special guests.
Karl Edo's friend, Arne Vaa, has designed the shop front.
ENG: Karl Edo Spook and Arne Vaa are often in Paris too, where they have become friends with Cocco Flanell, who came for the opening, and Action Man who didn't. Cocco is also the designer of the Spook House logo. Polly Line (Arne Vaa's former wife) is conversing Helmer's aunt, Dolly Barton, who came mostly for the free champagne. Nora, who was thrilled to get this modern design shop in her neighbourhood, is of course also present. Helmer was invited too, but thought it (like Action Man?) too femi to attend.
ENG: As they hadn't seen each other for ages, Arne and Cocco had much catching up to do.
Underneath: The next morning and the shop's ready to open.
ENG: The counter with moon lamps for sale.
ENG: And here Karl Edo is back too, perhaps a bit faint after the opening, but the counter helps him keep his balance.
(The fasade, black table and the white shelf to the left are in lego and so is the base of the lamp. Most of the other furniture is Re-ment, but one Lundby lamp. Moon lamps and Spook House bags by my friend "Cocco". I've made the round table and the George Nelson clock. The art is "Red abstract, nr. 5" by Victor Pasmore)

Room with a view
ENG: Helmer and Nora have also two 1:6 scale friends living in Paris, Action Man and Cocco Flanell. So far it's just Actionman who has got himself an apartment, but Cocco Flanell seems to visit him ever so often.
I have also been given an 1:16 version of her, so she can visit her friends here in Skien. Last Autumn they met for the very first time, Cocco and Mini me, as Cocco likes to call her smaller version.
ENG: The stained glas window behind them is of my design and the 1:1 window is in my living room (Our house is more than a hundred years old and has Art Nouveau rosettes in the ceiling)

When in Rome....
ENG: Last Autumn I was in Rome and there bought a vespa for Helmer.
I couldn't wish for a more typically Roman souvenir, so I was pleased and so was Helmer, who was off in a blink of an eye.
I just managed to get this picture of him before he disappeared in a puff of dust.

Those were the days (last Summer)
ENG: For as long as Nora and Helmer had lived in the house, Helmer had been quite content with it, not much had changed over the years and for Helmer this was a good thing.
Then one day Nora came with some drawings her friend Polly Line had made for her, with plans for both an extension where she could have a utility room and a terrasse on top, and some alteration of the roof, providing more light for the top balcony. Even though he thought it would be too expencive and didn't look forward to be living in a building site the whole summer, Helmer knew better than to turn the project down.
Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of he house before the extension was built, but here it is just after it was finished.
NOR: Og her er to bilder som viser takterrassen etter ombyggingen.

Welcome and cheers!
Helmer and I will also welcome Grace to this blog! (How did you know where to find us?)
I love both her blog and her wonderful miniature books!
Almost all the books in this selfmade shelf are hers and I have also another shelf with the even smaller books she makes!
She is also nice, I'm still very grateful for the Pippi Langstrømpe book (with the frontpage in Norwegian!) she sent me as an extra.

You know where to find us - or Who's who?
ENG: And here we are again... Nora and Helmer back in the pub.
Nora is sitting at the table with her dearest friend Polly Line and her (Nora's) aunt Fiolett Paa Traadén (VioLet's It Slip). In the back by the counter we can see Arne Vaa, Polly Line's ex-husband, and his friend Karl Edo Spook. As you may have gathered from their black clothes both Polly Line and Arne are architects.
In the foreground Helmer is chatting with his aunt Dolly Barton, who is also the aunt of the publican, Bart Ender Barton (a son of Dolly's brother Bartholomew Barton and Mae West Ender). Dolly is responsible for a fair share of her nephew's turnover...

Nora & Helmer
ENG: Here are Nora and Helmer saying hello and welcoming you to their house.
Nora likes to mix old and new furniture and accessories. In fact some of the furniture was left by the old owners of the house, as the piano, lamp and sofaes. Nora just changed the colour of the fabric.

Welcome to my blog and to my pub
ENG: As mentioned in my profile, I have had a Lundby dollshouse for years, since I was a child. Through the years it was worn out, so I kept the extension, gave the old house to my daughter and replaced it with a used 1980's Stockholm Lundby. Later I have expanded with an extra floor in the house and started a new house with shops and the pub I had wanted to make for years. The pub is often visited by many different characters, among them the couple who live in the main house, Nora and Helmer, and their family and friends.
ENG: I have made the bar stools, counter and beer taps myself and most of what is on the walls.
