MH¾

Now that Polly Line's new bedroom is revealed, I can finally show you the progress on the rest of her home without spoiling the surprise. This summer she added another floor to her house, I'm sure many of you can tell that Wes Christensen's fabulous MH1 in 1:12 was a big inspiration for her!
These photos were taken in the late summer, and I think it's nice to look back at warmer and sunnier days now it's cold and white outside (but still beautiful).

View from the livingroom towards the patio

And from the patio towards the livingroom.

Now Helmer's not the only one with a vespa .

Views of the house and patio from Google Earth

One afternoon when Polly was enjoying the nice weather on her roof terrace there was a sudden beam of light.

Guess who's visiting?

Credits: Polly Line's house is made by altering Lundby extension floors. I have repainted them and cut new larger windows with plastic glass and wooden framing. The facade of the ground floor and the supporting wall are made of lego. The patio has paving made of coasters, the back wall of the patio is an Ikea soap dish and the other wall is a wooden table protector. The furniture is vintage Lundby

Dear Helene

Yes, I´m some kind of "back again" - and now i have to catch up! I missed so many of your lovely posts and it´ll take me a while to read them all, with the time i want to spent, because each of them is made so lovely !

I´m so inspired by Polly Lines new house! Great ideas and details on each picture :) I love the google (tiny people) view ;D

I´m wishing you a nice 3. advent, yours Nicola

Helene, what shall I say ? You and Sans have the most incredible and new houses of the block. There are many wonderful, gorgeous projects but yours are so original. The pics are great as well, it really looks like a real house. Stunning. Minihugs Rosanna

Hi Helene, I am laughing so hard at the Google Earth comment. So funny... Love the pink Vespa. Fabulous new house. Polly Line is so spoiled. Using those Lundby extensions is such a fantastic idea. I never even dreamed that could be done. Oh the possibilities and the low cost is inspiring. PS. I think aliens are coming to visit.

Oh, Helene, I am SO glad you (finally) showed Polly's rocking pad! It looks amazing, and the LEGOs are fantastic bricks! I also love how you used the soap dish as a curved wall! Seeing this will make me look differently at those Lundby extensions I see pop up on eBay. Thanks for sharing this lovely slice of summer -- it's yummy!

Hi Helene! I Love your google earth views! :) :)! And your creative use of legos is amazing! I am not as familiar with Lundby Extensions..... but I am certain you are very creative with them! It is a treat to see the Summer views..... we can Daydream after all! Your work is inspiring!

Dear Nicola, thank you so mch for your lovely words, so nice to have you back! I really appreciate that you want to read my old stuff as well, but take your time and don't overdo it :-)

Glad you liked the google view, I must admit I was quite happy with the idea myself :-)

Hope you will have a wonderful 3. advent too!

Pubdoll said...

Thank you Rosanna, I have always thought that being a little bit different is a good thing, so to hear that my work is original is the best compliment I can get :-)
And her originality was what attracted me to Sans' blog as well, besides being a big fan of everything oriental :-)

Big minihugs Helene

Thank you Oese, I'm almost blushing from all your praise! (Sorry for the English, seems I'm almost too tired or busy to write in German)
You know with all what's going on in December, it was quite practical to have prepared a post in advance. And I don't know if I'm good at keeping secrets, I just really didn't want to display the house before I had posted the bedroom, and I didn't want to display the bedroom without Sans slippers :-)
I now have all the houses (four of them ++) in the guestroom and Polly's house is in the corner to save space. But until recently it was on an ordinary low Ikea Billy shelf, with both floors right on top of eachother.

Pubdoll said...

Thanks Amy, happy to hear my Google Earth view made you laugh, I must admit I was rather pleased with the idea myself :-)
I like exploring the possibilites of the extensions, both because of the availability (I can buy it from shops in my hometown), the low prize and because they're already wired.
But the hard plastic makes it hard to cut, it usually takes me more than an hour to cut out one window.

Pubdoll said...

Thanks callsmall, you know I have been dying to show it, but couldn't without giving away Polly's bedroom.
And you know the idea to use soapdishes and such things for other purposes, I've got from you and Altera, so thanks!
I think I know what your children will get for Christmas, lot's of white legos :-)

Pubdoll said...

Thanks Betsy, you made me aware that I hadn't made a link to a picture of an ordinary Lundby extension floor, so now it's done. The original extension floor has windows like Polly Line's kitchen and is wallpapered.
So nice to hear that I can inspire you, because you inspire me so often! And I just looove Lego, it's so versatile :-) (I often wish for lego as Christmas and birthday presents)

MH3/4 and mention of Google Earth for dolls houses? In the same post? Cracked me up completely.

Thanks for making my day. I shall be giggling as I do the (full sized) housework this morning.

Pubdoll said...

Thanks TSS, and your day is my tomorrow :-)

Wow! It's fabulous - everything's perfect!! You've inspired me to take up the idea of making a mod house :)
The Google earth view made me laugh, it's brilliant, and the Doctor parked very neatly :D

Hallo Helene
Klem Janne

Pubdoll said...

Thanks Glenda, I knew I could rely on you to spot the Sardis :-)
And so fun that the Google Earth view seems to be a hit :-)
I would be very happy if my posts inspired you to make a mod house, with your skills and talents I'm sure it would be fantastic!

Pubdoll said...

Google earth!!! Oh you are too much. Be sure to check out my "gingerbread house" in a couple of posts. all credit to Wes Christensen... C

Pubdoll said...

Thanks C! A gingerbread house credited to Wes sounds like a winner, looking forward to see the result :-)

This is absolutely wonderful. I love how you have turned the Lundby extensions into such a gorgeous modern home. You have inspired me to get back to ultra modern houses for a while

Kjempestilig hus! Likte "Google Earth" bildet! :-D

Kjempeflott hus du har laget deg. Veldig moderne.

Pubdoll said...

Thanks Susan, so nice that you liked my transformation, and even nicer if I've inspired you to go back to modern houses, but I guess your Emerson House is the biggest inspiration :-)

Pubdoll said...

Pubdoll said...

Polly's Pretty Pad :). FINALLY! :):)

You and Rosanna are way too good with your compliments but I really have to congratulate you on this house. I have been so curious, wondering the where, what, WHO? and how :). Now I see it.

Do you know I have always always wanted a pink vespa with leather seats? And yes, a straw basket in the front. And me wearing a long scarf riding my pink vespa..haha!

I love the patio furniture, my dear and I think you should build Polly a pool. :). Cos everyone wants to go to Polly's Pool Party which must surely be The Event every summer :).

I can't believe I have spent my whole half day in the office catching up with posts :). Got to go, honey! Send you-know-WHO my regards :).

Brilliant and ingenious! So many great ideas, and the realisation of your ideas is so well done, everything looks perfect. Another wonderful project for the portfolio of Helene og Sønn :-)

I'm also really impressed at the way you've photographed it, so it really looks in scale with the trees and hedge and other houses - you are so clever at that, Nora's garden and the camping trip were brilliantly photographed too. (Love the Google earth picture too, though I'm glad it wasn't taken when Polly was on the terrace ;-) )

I'm also glad that Polly Line has some nice bright colour in her house - yellow and pink and purple. I think this house could look very stark in winter otherwise!

Pubdoll said...

Thanks Sans! I love the sound of Polly's Pool Party, fun idea :-)
And your regards have been sent to I-know-WHO :-) More in my mail to you.

Pubdoll said...

Thank you Rebecca, your praise always means a lot to me! And Sønn has promised to help me on the facade of the first floor too :-)

So nice of you to remember my other outside photos, you know I love to do these kind of scenes. But some are easier than others. Because of the flat landscape the camping pictures were a piece of cake, but these scenes were the trickiest ones so far, because some of our neighbours have rather tall roof tops that I had to avoid. If I were to do it again, I would have placed the whole scene with grass and everything on a table to even out the height difference.

And I was also happy that Polly wasn't on the google earth picture, if she had I would have to censor it, and couldn't have shown it on the blog.

I like white walls because they're so versatile, but all in white is too cold and boring for me (that's why I'm not a big fan of shabby chic) and that purple and yellow room is at the moment my own favourite.

Absolute genius! I love what you do with legos, but this seriously takes the cake. The Lundby extensions have never looked better. Thanks for setting it up and taking all of the amazing outdoor photos. It looks so real, I just want to move in. GORGEOUS!!!

Pubdoll said...

Pubdoll said...

Thank you Megan, it was nice to spend a day out in the wonderful weather taking pictures :-) Feels like ages ago now it's been freezing cold outside for almost two months.

Pubdoll said...

Tusen takk for kjempehyggelig hilsen Ingerid!

Ingerid : ) said...

Karin said...

Hello.

Pubdoll said...

Takk igjen Ingerid :-)

http://www.byg1.dk/produkt/billede/?partno=205175&pictureno=0

Pubdoll said...

Tusen takk Karin!

http://anninagunter.blogspot.com/

Ingerid said...

Åja, sånn ja! ;) Det var lurt ! :-)

Karin said...

Hei igjen! =-)
