Eggs

From my childhood I have a red Arne Jacobsen egg chair by Brio with matching footstool (See it in use here) and last year I was so lucky to get one of the new egg chairs made by Minimii from Cocco. The size of the chair from Minimii is: Height 6,69cm Debth: 4,94cm Width: 5,38cm and is 1:16 according to Minimii. I have searched the net to find the size of the fullscale Egg chair and found it is Height 107cm, the Debth is 79cm and the Width is 86cm. So Minimii's chair is a perfect 1:16 scale. (3/4" scale)
My old Brio chair is slightly larger, the Height is about 7.5cm which means the scale is about 1:14.

On popular demand (I hope you read this Cocco :-)) I have taken pictures of the two chairs together to show you the difference. Click on the photos to enlarge them.

Bedroom stories

ENG: Nora has been in a decorating mood ever since Spook House opened, and the latest room to suffer from her frenzy is the bedroom. Even though it had been decorated just a couple years ago, into this...

ENG:...she kept on, with this as the final result:
NOR:..fortsatte hun, med dette som resultat:

ENG: The last picture shows the bedroom seen from the terrace. The floor tiles are original.

NOR: Det siste bildet viser soverommet sett fra terrassen utenfor. Flisene er husets orginale.

Credits: Re-ment chair, but I have coloured the fabric purple. The chest of drawers are from Brio, but painted with metallic paint. Scrap book frames. Other furniture and accessories are from Lundby, beads, or self made.

Nora's sewing room

ENG: Being a dedicated Arts and crafts teacher in secondary school, Nora of course has to have her own sewing room at home, too.

ENG: Nora's many rolls of fabric and a view towards the garden

ENG: Nora also has a collection of old dolls.

ENG: Nora at work. You can see she has been shopping in Spook House...
NOR: Nora klipper til stoff. Du kan se hun har handlet i Spook House...

Credits: Lundby ceiling lamp, Brio table and chest of drawers (from my childhood) the drawings on the board are by my children (not scaled afterwards), Spook House bag by Cocco, fabric samples in Lego shelf. Art by Mucha and Klimt.

Helmer's study

ENG:
This is the study in Nora and Helmers house, mostly occupied by Helmer. But I haven't yet found out what he really does there, except listening to his records or playing his guitar.

ENG
: Like me, Helmer has a thing for penguins.
This one he found in a tourist shop in Paris.

NOR: Rommet med og uten overlys. Under er Helmer på plass ved pc-en.
ENG: Daylight through the ceiling window. Underneath we see Helmer at his computer.

Credits:
The desk, book shelves, cd player, radio, telephone, lamps and rug from Lundby. The pendant lamps and the kitsch woman on the wall by Cocco. The Arne Jacobsen Egg chair and foot stool from Brio (I have had them since my childhood) Computer and newspaperholder from Re-ment. The books are mostly from Lundby, TreeFeathers and self made.
