Kommer'u Closenough!

I'm pleased to invite you into the home of Sean Kommer'u, (Sean R. U. Coming) (a former agent) and Glenn Closenough (yes, it is the well known movie star) , who has moved into the old house of famous Danish architect Arne Jacobsen after they retired. It has been a big transition for them both, to downsize from the more extravagant surroundings they had been accustomed to.

Don't be shy, just knock on the door, they are expecting you

Sean Kommer'u opens the door and greets us warmly; "so nice to meet you, please come inside!"

You can hang your coat here, if you want to. Will you please follow me into the dining room/music room.
This is where my wife spends most of her evenings.

Speaking of the devil, his wife Glenn Closenough enters the room, and eager to entertain as always, starts playing a piece by Mozart on the grand piano. This can take a while...I hope you like really like Mozart.

Finally she stopped playing, and we can go upstairs.

The landing functions as Sean Kommeru's office, and is more to his taste, no frills here (just a lot of cars, it seems)

Do you want to see the bedroom as well?

Maybe you would like to visit the bathroom before our final room?

Hope you like our living room.

"This is my favorite room", Sean Kommer'u says.  It has everything I need to relax, a comfy sofa, a bar and a big screen TV

You must be thirsty after seeing all these rooms, can I offer you something to drink, perhaps a Dry Martini?

I'm sorry for my long absence, I'm just stopping by to show you this project I've been working on during these years in a Minimii 1:16 replica of (half) the home of Danish architect Arne Jacobsen  I bought back in 2011. (I didn't have the space for the full depth house) Sorry to say it seems they have closed their web-shop during the last year.

I won't blog as regular as I used to back in the days, but hope to update you on some of the things I've been working on since then. For those interested, I have also posted some things on my Flickr page

Have a nice spring!

Carnival

Since this is the last weekend before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, Glenn Closeenough and her husband Sean Kommer'u have invited to Carnival in Venetian style with capes and masks. And everyone is here, Nora and Helmer with their children Tomy and Annika, Henrik's twin brother Henrik and his wife Carol Line, Carol's cousin Polly Line, Cocco Flanell, Arne Vaa and Karl Edo Spook, Glenn Closenough's sister Fiolett paa Traadén, and the other aunt of Helmer and Henrik; Dolly Barton. Can you tell who's who?

Nora has also invited the new French teacher at her school, the handsome Jean-Marie du Bédauré, recently moved in from Paris. He's the man with the red mask.

Helmer thinks Nora looks like a new woman tonight and feels a little bit jealous when he sees how she and the other women gather around the Frenchman.

Even though her nephew Bart Ender Barton isn't around tonight, Dolly Barton prefers the bar.
Polly Line thinks it's nice to meet new people but her mind wanders away while she's talking to Jean-Marie and Fiolett paa Traadén. After the nice evening in the pub on New Years Eve, she had told the tall handsome stranger about the party. She still didn't know his name, so she couldn't get Glenn Closenough to send him an invitation, but she hopes he will turn up anyway. But now most of the evening has passed and the only handsome stranger is Jean-Marie.

Suddenly - there he is! Polly Line's heart makes a jump of joy! But, he doesn't stop or even look at her! He just walks straight across the room towards the hostess, Glenn Closenough.

Polly Line is left quite confused and heartbroken.

But after what seems like hours, his conversation with Closenough is over and he turns around again, but then stops and chats for a while with Nora. Polly Line's mind is so occupied looking at them, she doesn't even notice that Jean-Marie seems quite taken with her.

A happy ending?

Credits: Annika's costume and the masks are from Polly pocket and painted with nailpolish by me and my children. Bendik has made Tomy's costume, the rest of the capes I have made.

The Sixteenth Chapel or Mass Hypnosis

Sean Kommer'u's altar ego and twin brother William, (he has taken Maximillian as his cleric name) has come to visit and to celebrate Christmas mass in the family's private chapel.
Family and friends have met up in full for such a rare occasion, crowding the little church.

The altar boy is Minimillian from France, who is spending Christmas with his uncle Arne at Karl Edo Spook's house.

Pater Maximillian speaks about the birth of Christ: "In the time o Caesar Augustus, the Romans ordered a census tae be cairried oot ower the hale country. This happened when Cyrenius wis the heid man O Syria.." His gentle voice and the dense air of the crowded chapel makes Polly Line drowsy and her mind starts to wander. After reading the gospel, the priest begins his sermon about God's love for us. His Scottish accent is mixed in Polly Line's mind with vague memories from last summer. She dreams of happy children and bonfires, and she smiles secretly and feels the heat in her cheeks.

She wakes up suddenly, when the priest raises his voice: "And yer harts are wide open and yer innermost longings are for Him ter see!"

Credits: The clothes of pater Maximillian and Minimillian are made by Cocco! She gave me pater Maximillian for my 40th birtday and I just had to make him a church :-) The chapel is built in lego by me and my children, the stained glass windows are postcards bought in Paris and the white statue of Virgin Mary with baby is also a souvenir from Paris. The Virgin Mary with baby and angels, behind the altar, is bought in a shop in Bergen. The St. Olaf statue is a souvenir from the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim. Other accessories are ebay finds or bought in St.Olav booklet, Oslo. Birth of Christ text taken from "A Glasgow Bible" by Jamie Stuart.
