Happy New Year Miss Sophie

Same procedure as last year miss Sophie?

Same procedure as every year, James!

Happy New Year miss Sophie and a Happy New Year to all of you!
Thank you all for brightening my days with your inspiring posts and kind comments.

I'm late - again, I hope you all can pretend this was posted yesterday :-)
This Christmas I have divided my time between family and work since I have a big deadline in just a week. So not much time spent on miniatures. But I think this in a way sums up 2010 for me too, it's been a busy year, both home and at work, which I of course in these recession times am very thankful for; not many have been as lucky as us, but it often doesn't leave much time and energy for playing with miniatures or blogging.

But blogging brought lots of joy and pleasure this year as well.
- The contact with new and old blogger friends, I so appreciate our friendship and you are all a great inspiration for me!
- Many of these friends have given me lovely gifts, which I really look forward to show you!
- Meeting callsmall in New York, which was one of this years highlights for me. Too bad I hate longdistance travels or I would have bought tickets to meet many more of you! (I'm looking at you Sans!)
- The growing interest for modern miniature design. This year has given us both more mini modernist bloggers and more mini modernist designers, and some of us (ha!) have even made it into various newspapers. The article with Karl Edo and me has now been translated to English (mainly by my better half) and will be posted soon.

If 2011 will turn out only half as great as 2010 was, I have a lot to look forward to! I, for one, will do my very best! Cheerio!

UPDATE: For those of you who are not familiar with Miss Sophie and James, this post is referring to this sketch with Freddie Frinton, which is a TV classic and a tradition for Christmas or New Year's Eve in most European countries.

Happy New Year Helene!
I am so happy I have joined blogland this year! It has definitely eaten into my time for building miniatures.... already somewhat limited.... but SO worth it! I hope your New Year brings you time for ALL your pleasures!

Miss Sophie is getting her annual facelift? :):) That was what I thought when I read the post, tee hee.

Helene, it has been such an eventful year, hasn't it? And for the 1st time, I see you take this long long trip, and not in a SARDIS, to NY and you met a blog friend and that gave me hope. But I know not to expect it anytime soon :). Its probably more likely that I visit you!

It is nice to read your reflections of this year. Yes, I "see" a lot less of you on blogland and I do miss your light-hearted , very witty and extremely fun to read posts. So, you may hope for half of 2010 in 2011 but I wish for twice of you this year than what I had last year!

*poppps! goes the champagne cork!

CHEERS! My Friend!

PS I am so late in emailing you. *stick out tongue

Happy New Year, Helene, Trond, Bendik and Mari!
Your posts may have diminished in quantity, Helene, but not in quality - and more time in between means we can savour them again and again :-)

So sorry to hear that C, James was shaken but not stirred by the news. I hope you get a new butler in 2011, all those margaritas won't fill themselves.

Thanks for the good wishes and I hope the same for you Betsy! Being an artist yourself I wondered if you have noticed the leg of the man in the painting in the last photo?
The whole room was inspired by that painting and that leg :-)

Thank you and a Happy New Year to you Minna!

Thanks Sans, but I think my health would be in bad shape if I were to be doubled :-)
And you know that I would love to have you visiting, why else would I bring all my dollhouses into the guestroom?

I see why you thought about facelift, she doesn't look her age at all, but you know Cocco gave her a makeover a couple of years ago. But to put such facelift rumours to rest I posted a link to the original sketch.

I think I take the champagne with the bird. And cheers to you!

Rebecca, so sweet of you to say that! This year I also discovered the perfectionist in me, so I tend to spend more and more time on the photos for each post to get some detail right that noone but me (and maybe you)will notice. The writeup of the story is what often suffers because of this, since I'm into the wee hours before I start writing. Luckily for me, I usually have Trond to save the day (night):-)

Godt Nytt År from Mari, Bendik, Trond and me, they were very happy to be remembered!

Thank you Amy, and a happy new year to you and Martin, who are some of the most positive people I can think of. Seems like you have had a great deal of miniature fun this Christmas :-)

Godt nyttår til deg og dine også Anne Mari! Siden jeg fikk ideen måtte den bare brukes, selv om dukkene egentlig heter noe annet :-)
