Christmas preparations

ENG: As some of you have already seen in the wiki calendar, Nora and Helmer are busy preparing for Christmas. Helmer and the children are baking pepperkaker (pepper bisquits/ginger bread cookies) while Nora is decorating the Christmas Tree. Because they had been asked to participate in the wiki advent calendar, she did it early this year. Usually the tree won't be decorated until Lillejulaften (the 23rd December.)

The Nativity/ Julekrybben

Credits: In the kitchen I have made the cakes, dough and rolling pin myself. The cookie cutters are from a local craft shop and are meant for scrapbooking. The nativity set was bought in Avignon and virgin Mary is just 1.8cm tall. The angels come from an Angel shop in Hamar, Norway

Oh, it's beautiful! I love all the Christmas ornaments, and the Christmassy tin on the kitchen counter, and the presents and decorations under the tree. And I can imagine the wonderful smells, too - peppercakes in the kitchen, and hyacinth already flowering in the living room! Do they have their own tiny advent calendar, I wonder?

I wish I was as organized as your 'mini' family! I hope at least to get the gingerbread house done NEXT week. Took me a good 2 weeks to put the trees up and I am still 'tweaking'!

Thank you so much Rebecca! It must be a magical hyacinth, it has blossomed all autumn :-) They don't have any adventcalendars (yet), but I have given Actionman a 1:6th scale one :-)

Thank you Lize! I'm not at all as organized as them, and no gingerbread houses in sight either :-) But somehow we always get the house in order, cakes and decorations finished before Christmas eve each year :-)

Thank you Natalie! I follow the tradition and won't decorate our tree until the 23rd December :-)
I have collected Christmas miniatures for many years now, so I have much more than what is shown here!
